The physio clinic would demand confirmation of whether the claim number is registered with WSBC Physiotherapy or not.

Once it gets approved, your physiotherapist will provide you with the required treatment. No stringent requirements for obtaining a claim, such as a referral.

The essential requirement is that you need to ensure the claim under the contract with WSBC is made in the following manner:

  • Report the injury to your employer, and you will get an Employer Report from here.
  • Contact your physiotherapist and they will provide you with a report on what kind of treatment you require.
  • Reporting your injury to WSBC.
  • Fill out the compensation form to get your claim number.
  • Book your appointment and get your treatment.

Initial Visit To Physiotherapist After Work Injury

An initial visit to a physiotherapist is key to ensuring the long-term success of your treatment. During your first visit, your physiotherapist will ask you different questions like

-Circumstances that lead to your work injury and which situations have made your injury even worse.

-They will discuss if you have any concerns.

-Discussing treatment expectations.

-Explaining the type of treatment that will offer to you.

-Provide an estimated plan for when and how you can safely return to your workplace.

Treatment From Physiotherapist:

After your application is approved your physiotherapist will start working on you. For the first 90 days from the date of the patient’s injury, approved claims are permitted for 6 weeks of treatment.

During your pre-approval phase, you can book as many appointments as you need with your physiotherapist, depending on the treatment plan set by your practitioner.

If you feel that you need treatment after even six weeks,  don’t worry; there is an option available. Your physiotherapist can request an extension of 4 weeks if required. This extension request of 4 weeks can be made multiple times as needed until you feel ready for your daily routine.

Why Do You Need A Physiotherapist?

Reduce The Pain

Physiotherapists have long-lasting relief from pain. The aches and pains you experience in your body because of work-related injury may be due to many reasons physio will not just reduce your pain but also decrease your dependency on painkillers.

Increase Your Mobility

Workers who got injured are usually confined to bed for a long time. In such cases, balance, and mobility are a greater challenge here. Your physiotherapist can do a great help and your body will regain strength and mobility and will enhance coordination.

Avoid Extensive Surgeries

Sometimes surgeries are unavoidable when caused by heavy injuries but if you have an injury that doesn’t require injury and you want to avoid it your physio will offer a variety of treatments based on the diagnosis and will choose the right treatment to heal the injured tissues and will act as a catalyst for the smooth recovery process.

Age-Related Problems

Your physio while dealing with your work-related injury will also deal with age-related problems as they are more prone to injuries and other related issues like arthritis and osteoporosis. The physiotherapist will suggest different activities to improve coordination and help you walk safely.

Reduce Dependency On Prescription Medicines

Medicines can provide immediate relief, but when taken for an extended period of time, they can have other side effects, such as affecting your organs such as your kidneys and liver, and in some cases, they can lead to drug abuse. So, to reduce your dependency on painkillers, physiotherapy is the best option. It is considered the best and safest alternative.

Reduces Inflammation In The Body

Although inflammation is the body’s natural immune system it can also create adverse impacts if it becomes chronic. chronic inflammation can have several symptoms like swelling, pain, and heat. The need for physiotherapists is to reduce these symptoms as quickly as possible.

The physiotherapist does this by using ice packs or heat packs on the affected areas. Ice reduces pain caused by inflamed tissues while heat enhances circulation around injured areas.

Lower Muscle Spasms

Muscle spasm is common after injury. This can be painful and limit the movements of the body.

A combination of techniques is used by physiotherapists like heat or cold therapy, and electrical stimulation depending on what your body requires. like electrical stimulation will cause muscle contraction this will help loosen tight tissues so your physiotherapist can work efficiently.

Having a workplace-related injury can be devastating creating mental trauma.
A physiotherapist is an excellent alternative and can help you recover from injuries quickly. They are beneficial for your long-term health too so that you can quickly get back on your feet in no time and can make a return to your work.

Last But Not Least, Make Sure That Your Physiotherapy Treatment is effective. If you are getting treatment at some clinic where they just leave you alone and provide no special attention and you are just handed over to a machine and given vague answers on your treatment process, then you might be at the wrong clinic.

So choosing the right physio clinic is an essential step.
